What you'll do

  • Partner directly with electric utility engineering, planning, and operations teams to identify and evaluate grid needs.
  • Analyze utility distribution systems, hosting capacity, load growth, and operational constraints.
  • Support the design and implementation of distributed energy resource (DER) programs, including battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV charging infrastructure, and flexible load solutions.
  • Develop communications, controls, and operational technology (OT) integration strategies that enable grid-connected assets to participate in utility and market programs.
  • Support distribution planning, interconnection studies, and DER integration efforts.

What they require

  • Utility experience is required for this role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of direct experience working within the electric utility industry in areas such as: Distribution Planning, Distribution Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Grid Modernization, System Planning, DER Integration, Interconnection Engineering.
  • Experience partnering with utility engineering, operations, planning, or grid management organizations.
  • Strong understanding of electric distribution systems, utility planning processes, and grid operations.
