ABOUT BARTI:
Barti is a venture-backed startup on a mission to build the future of eye care. We’re building groundbreaking, AI-powered software that transforms how practices document care, run their operations, and serve patients. Our goal is to craft exceptional user experiences that let eye care providers stay focused on delivering high-quality care.
We recently raised our Series A and are growing quickly as hundreds of practices adopt Barti to replace outdated legacy systems. It’s an exciting time to join as we expand into new parts of eye care and continue shaping the future of practice management.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As Senior Manager, Revenue Cycle Management, you will lead the day-to-day operations and performance of our RCM team, directly managing a team of RCM associates and contractors. Reporting to the Head of RCM, you will be responsible for executing the RCM strategy across the full revenue cycle, from claim creation to final payment, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and client satisfaction.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Manage and grow a team of RCM associates and contractors, handling hiring, training, coaching, and performance management. You care about your team's success and build a culture where people do great work.
- Own the daily execution of the revenue cycle, including medical coding, claims submission, payment posting, denial management, and A/R follow-up, with a weekly rhythm that keeps work on track and clears blockers fast.
- Own high-priority projects end-to-end, from new client implementations to process overhauls and system rollouts, scoping the work, lining up the right resources, and keeping leadership informed as you drive to the finish line.
- Track and report on KPIs like clean claim rate, days in A/R, and net collection rate, flagging trends and recommending improvements to the Head of RCM.
- Show up in key client conversations, making sure your team's work builds trust and strengthens the relationship, while the Head of RCM owns the account overall.
- Keep the team's work compliant with HIPAA and payer-specific guidelines, and build the processes and documentation that keep things consistent as the team grows.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, medical billing, or healthcare operations, with at least 2 years managing mid-size teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong proficiency in leveraging RCM technology, such as clearinghouses, EHR/PM systems, and advanced tools for managing denials.
- Strong track record of driving projects to completion: organized, proactive, and consistent in follow-through.
- Analytical mindset with experience using operational data to manage team performance and surface insights.
- Strong people management skills, with experience hiring, coaching, and developing a remote team of associates and/or contractors.
- History of meaningful client engagement, with the ability to communicate clearly and build trust with external stakeholders.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-moving startup environment.
BONUS POINTS IF YOU:
- Have experience with RCM in the eye care (optometry or ophthalmology) industry.
- Hold a professional coding certification (e.g., CPC, COC).
- Have worked in a client service environment, managing RCM for external healthcare practices.
- Deep understanding of RCM platforms, specifically with hands-on experience in TriZetto, Availity or similar.
