What you'll do

  • Lead a team who conducts audits and reviews of provider activity and clinical documentation as needed.
  • Lead psychiatric quality assurance initiatives and support investigations involving provider performance, prescribing concerns, documentation quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Help the team provide actionable, constructive, and clinically informed feedback to psychiatric providers.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Credentialing, and Patient Safety teams to ensure adherence to applicable regulations and professional standards.
  • Stay current on evolving telehealth, prescribing, and psychiatric practice regulations and communicate relevant changes throughout the organization.
  • Develop strong relationships with providers to improve engagement, satisfaction, retention, and platform success.
  • Identify trends impacting psychiatric providers and recommend operational improvements.
  • Directly manage and develop Psychiatry Operations team members, including Clinical Operations Managers, Quality Assurance Specialists, and Psychiatry Support Specialists.
  • Establish team priorities, workflows, performance expectations, and operational goals.
  • Coach and mentor team members through complex clinical and operational scenarios.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Support workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, and development as the Psychiatry Operations function scales.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, quality metrics, provider engagement data, and operational trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Use data-driven decision making to optimize provider experience, member outcomes, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives involving psychiatric care delivery, provider support, quality assurance, and risk mitigation.
  • Help develop scalable operational processes to support future growth and expansion of psychiatric offerings.
  • Serve as a clinical subject matter expert for psychiatric care delivery and medication management workflows.
  • Partner with Associate Medical Director for thought-partnership.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, AI, and Clinical Operations stakeholders to identify opportunities for platform enhancements.
  • Provide clinical guidance on new products, tools, workflows, and technology initiatives impacting psychiatric providers and members.
  • Support implementation and adoption of new technologies, including AI-enabled workflows and quality initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Communications, and Public Relations teams as needed.
  • Participate in provider-facing webinars, training events, educational content, and media opportunities.
  • Represent BetterHelp's commitment to safe, ethical, and accessible psychiatric care.
  • Maintain a small caseload of psychiatric clients on the platform, approximately 2-3 clinical hours per week, to understand the lived experience of providers.
  • Support insurance and payer-related quality initiatives as BetterHelp expands its healthcare offerings.

What they require

  • Experienced, innovative, and operationally-minded Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
  • Experience leading Psychiatry Practice Management or similar provider operations teams.
  • Experienced psychiatric clinician who understands both direct patient care and technology-enabled access to mental healthcare.
  • Comfortable consulting on complex clinical situations, analyzing operational data, improving processes, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and coaching team members.
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments and embraces ambiguity.
  • Active, unrestricted Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license in good standing.
  • Minimum 5 years of post-licensure clinical experience providing psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and medication management.
  • Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
  • Strong understanding of psychiatric prescribing practices, risk assessment, documentation standards, and clinical quality management.
  • Experience investigating or resolving complex clinical, quality, compliance, or provider performance concerns.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-informed decisions.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with clinical, operational, legal, product, and executive stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth technology environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and drive projects to completion.
  • Passion for improving access to high-quality mental healthcare through innovation and technology.
  • Ideally located or licensed in AL, GA, IN, MO, MS, NC, OH, TN, TX.
  • Preferred: Experience delivering psychiatric services via telehealth.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting or supervising other psychiatric providers.
  • Preferred: Experience in healthcare operations, quality assurance, utilization management, or clinical leadership roles.
  • Preferred: Experience working with large provider networks or digital health organizations.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with state and federal telehealth and prescribing regulations.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting AI-enabled healthcare initiatives or healthcare technology products.
  • Preferred: Previous experience with UpLift or other similar virtual care platforms.
