What you'll do

  • Partner with Standards & Governance to develop, standardize, and maintain global EHS program documents.
  • Operationalize global standards into field-executable, risk-based program requirements and controls.
  • Engage with Regional and Local EHS leaders to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and needs within the program.
  • Lead efforts to define or create programmatic solutions through collaborative workgroups or self-development.
  • Ensure alignment with the Global EHS Management System, including risk-based approaches and high-risk activity focus.
  • Establish clear performance criteria, controls, and verification mechanisms across all programs.
  • Own and execute an enterprise EHS assurance strategy, including standardized audit frameworks, scoring models and performance benchmarks.
  • Integrate and rationalize existing assessment mechanisms, linking program requirements to measurable performance metrics.
  • Define standard methodologies, scoring models, and minimum acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure audits validate system implementation, legal/regulatory compliance, Vantage program requirements, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Build a single, enterprise view of EHS performance and risk.
  • Establish assessment outputs linking to leading and lagging indicators.
  • Collaborate with Data Analytics teams to develop dashboards and performance monitoring platforms.
  • Monitor and empower closure of audit findings and corrective actions with local and corporate teams.
  • Identify systemic trends and translate EHS performance data into actionable insights for business leaders.
  • Lead incorporation of assessment insights into standards, training, and operational execution.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional EHS initiatives in a matrix environment.
  • Support alignment across global and regional teams to ensure consistent program execution.
  • Provide input and support on team operations and execution as needed.
  • Represent EHS programs in leadership and operational forums.
  • Lead development of critical control verification strategies (e.g., HRA / SIF prevention focus).
  • Partner on post-incident reviews and support rollout of key initiatives such as new technology or program launches.
  • Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.

What they require

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or related science/engineering preferred but not required depending on experience.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in EHS program development, assurance, or systems leadership.
  • Proven track record designing and implementing enterprise-level EHS programs and management systems.
  • Deep experience in audit, compliance, and assurance frameworks (ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 preferred).
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders across Construction and/or Operations environments.
  • Strong understanding of risk-based EHS systems and high-risk activity frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success operating in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Exceptional technical writing and document development skills, especially through a document management system.
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into practical, field-usable guidance.
  • Must have current working knowledge of OSHA regulations and standards; familiarity with global regulatory safety standards highly encouraged.
  • Familiarity with consensus standards such as ANSI and NFPA.
  • Ability to operate beyond a compliance-based approach and collaborate to find business-supporting solutions.
  • Strategic thinking with strong execution discipline; independent, self-directed, and highly organized.
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-track programs simultaneously.
  • Strong presence and communication skills in professional settings.
  • Operates effectively with ambiguity and change.
  • Travel required up to 10%; global travel may be required.
