Senior communications manager with 12+ years in corporate and financial communications. Needs established business/financial media relationships, public-company market fluency, and strong writing for complex financial topics. Remote US only.

What you'll do

  • Shape how Affirm shows up in market-followed coverage and conversation, making the case for what sets it apart from legacy credit and newer entrants.
  • Build belief in the business by owning the story behind the numbers in partnership with Investor Relations, Finance, and Capital Markets.
  • Lead communications around company-defining milestones including earnings, funding, partnerships, and major business news.
  • Keep the story moving between milestones by creating openings to advance it so credibility compounds instead of resetting with each headline.
  • Earn the confidence of business and financial reporters, producers, and podcasters across traditional and new media.
  • Set the agenda with media and become a trusted source they return to.
  • Counsel and prepare executives for high-stakes media interviews and speaking opportunities.
  • Create messaging and briefing materials for executives.
  • Ensure the business and financial story stays aligned with everything else Affirm says so the company sounds like one voice.

What they require

  • 12+ years in communications, ideally spanning both a fast-moving, high-growth company and a public one.
  • Established connections with national business and financial reporters, producers, and podcasters, and the standing to be a voice they trust.
  • Market fluency and a real feel for how the market reads a public company, including earnings, capital markets, and disclosure.
  • Ability to get into dense financials and credit metrics fast, see what they mean beyond what they say, and turn them into a clear, defensible story that holds up with reporters and analysts.
  • Ability to make complex financial topics clear, accurate, and compelling.
  • Bias for creating the story rather than chasing it.
  • Steadiness in high-stakes, high-visibility moments and the discipline to act quickly without putting trust at risk.
  • Ability to bring order and precision to the highest-stakes moments so nothing slips when it matters most.
  • Strong working relationships across Communications, Investor Relations, Finance, Legal, and Policy.
