Bluesky is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to design, develop, and maintain machine learning systems across their stack. The role focuses on systems that directly impact user experience through content recommendations, search, spam detection, automated labeling, and more.
📋 Responsibilities include:
- Design and implement ML models for personalized content recommendations, search, spam detection, topic labeling, and additional areas.
- Work with the large open dataset, Bluesky social graph, and content.
- Run ML tests/experiments, document findings, and iterate.
- Train, retrain, and monitor systems at scale in production.
- Ensure accurate recommendations and optimized user experiences.
🔑 Requirements:
- 3+ years recent experience in ML or data science roles, with focus on recommendations and search.
- Proficiency in Python and PyTorch (and related modules).
- Willingness for rapid experimentation.
- Familiarity with data structures, modeling, software architecture, and high-scale technologies.
🛠 Nice-to-have:
- Experience with recommendation systems, user behavior modeling, social graph analysis.
