What you'll do

  • Design, build, administer, and troubleshoot large-scale Linux infrastructure.
  • Perform expert-level Linux administration.
  • Deploy, architect, and administer bare metal servers.
  • Troubleshoot server hardware, including BIOS, RAID, firmware, iLO/iDRAC/IPMI, NICs, and HBA cards.
  • Design and administer enterprise Linux infrastructure.
  • Administer advanced Linux storage, including LVM, XFS, EXT4, NFS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel SAN, and Multipath I/O.
  • Work hands-on with Ceph cluster architecture, MON, OSD, MDS, RBD, CephFS, and RGW.
  • Handle Ceph capacity planning, performance tuning, and failure recovery.
  • Work with networking including bonding, VLANs, routing, MTU, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Work with high availability, clustering, and disaster recovery.
  • Troubleshoot issues across Linux OS, hardware, networking, and storage.
  • Write Bash and Python scripts for automation.

What they require

  • Highly experienced Linux Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise in traditional Linux administration, bare metal infrastructure, and enterprise storage.
  • Role is not focused on DevOps or cloud-native engineering.
  • Expert-level Linux administration with Ubuntu required.
  • Preferred: Red Hat and SUSE experience.
  • Deep expertise in bare metal server deployment, architecture, and administration.
  • Strong understanding of server hardware, including BIOS, RAID, firmware, iLO/iDRAC/IPMI, NICs, HBA cards, and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Experience designing and administering enterprise Linux infrastructure.
  • Advanced Linux storage administration.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Ceph.
  • Strong networking knowledge.
  • Experience with high availability, clustering, and disaster recovery.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Linux OS, hardware, networking, and storage.
  • Bash and Python scripting for automation.
  • Preferred: Kubernetes infrastructure, especially storage integration.
  • Preferred: VMware or KVM.
  • Preferred: Ansible.
  • Preferred: AWS/Azure exposure.
  • Not looking for candidates whose experience is primarily CI/CD pipeline engineering.
  • Not looking for engineers focused mainly on Terraform, GitOps, or container platforms.
  • Not looking for cloud-only administrators with limited bare metal or infrastructure experience.
  • Ideal candidate has spent years running enterprise Linux environments, building servers from the hardware up, architecting storage platforms, and solving complex OS, hardware, and storage issues.
  • DevOps experience is a plus, but traditional Linux infrastructure expertise is the primary requirement.
