What you'll do

  • Use specialist knowledge to create attractive auctions by evaluating and arranging lots submitted by sellers.
  • Review lot titles, descriptions, and pictures.
  • Provide users with an estimated and realistic value based on lot information.
  • Help keep user transactions as transparent and fair as possible.
  • Maintain a professional, polite and courteous approach with sellers.
  • Create exceptional auctions that bidders will find irresistible.
  • Work regularly with the sales department to recruit and develop new sellers.
  • Diversify the selection of lots offered in your auctions.
  • Work together with the marketing department to generate an increase of potential bidder attention at your auction.

What they require

  • A Gemmology Diploma from one of the schools recognised by the FEEG or GIA.
  • 5–10 years’ experience in the jewellery, diamonds or precious stones trade with knowledge of the market and the ability to perform gemmological and authentication tests.
  • Project management capabilities, with proven experience partnering closely with other cross-functional teams to drive complex initiatives.
  • Good grasp of market prices and understanding of jewellery second-hand market and B2B and B2C jewellery market dynamics.
  • Experience in appraising and assessing jewellery.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Extensive trade knowledge with a network of potential sellers and experts in your field.
  • A real team player with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in computer tools used for data analysis, reporting and presentations For example Excel or Google Sheets and PowerPoint or Google Slides.
  • The diplomatic competence needed to act as a mediator in disputes between users.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Preferred: Italian is a plus.
