Role Overview Our client is supporting the development of advanced AI systems by incorporating high-quality software engineering expertise into training and evaluation workflows. We are looking for experienced Java backend engineers with strong hands-on expertise in Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and scalable backend architecture . The role involves building and reviewing production-grade backend systems, improving reliability and performance, and contributing technically rigorous software outputs that help train next-generation AI systems. No prior AI experience is required . CONTRACT: Contractor assignment COMMITMENT: Full-time LOCATIONS: Remote NOTES: Compensation ranges from $60–$110 per hour . Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java backend systems . Build production-grade services using Spring Boot . Architect and implement robust microservices for complex application requirements. Develop and maintain REST APIs and backend integrations. Review technical specifications and translate them into reliable implementations. Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend services for performance and stability. Participate in code reviews and provide technically grounded feedback. Improve backend reliability, security, maintainability, and scalability. Document technical decisions, architecture, and implementation details clearly. Collaborate with distributed engineering teams on complex backend development tasks. Requirements Strong professional experience with Java backend development. Advanced hands-on experience with Spring Boot . Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and design principles . Experience designing and building REST APIs. Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient production code. Strong understanding of backend architecture, data structures, and software engineering best practices. Experience troubleshooting and optimizing backend applications.
