The IT Tooling team at Coinbase builds automations that power IT Support & Services operations, including the in-house bot Ask IT that deflects most requests and automates key workflows like ticket triage, access reviews, onboarding, and offboarding.

📋 Responsibilities include:

• Own the technical architecture of IT Tooling automations across n8n, Airflow, Temporal, and Jira, driving design decisions, integration patterns, and standards
• Establish architecture standards and code review practices to raise the team's engineering bar
• Lead as technical DRI on complex, high-impact automation projects from discovery through production
• Partner with Security, Corporate Engineering, and IAM teams to resolve blockers and represent the team in cross-functional discussions
• Build shared frameworks and reusable components to reduce single points of failure
• Produce architecture documentation and decision records

🔑 Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in IT engineering, automation, or systems engineering with ownership of architecture decisions and platform-level systems
• Deep expertise building and maintaining complex automations using n8n, Airflow, Temporal, Jira Automation, or Workato, with strong Git-based development workflows
• Working knowledge of Okta, Slack API, and Google Workspace administration
• Ability to operate in ambiguous environments and translate loosely scoped problems into production-ready specifications
• Responsible use of generative AI to improve workflow efficiency
