ArtWorkout is a mobile drawing app used by millions of people worldwide. We combine creativity, education, and gamification to help users learn to draw, relax, and develop new skills.
You will work with a product serving 1M+ iOS MAU and 1.5M+ Android MAU, about 80 million ClickHouse events per day, and a history of 600+ A/B experiments.
We are looking for a product-minded senior iOS engineer, not someone who only executes tickets. You will take product problems end to end: understand the business and user need, clarify an ambiguous task without waiting for a perfectly prepared specification, propose a solution, ship it, measure the outcome, and iterate.
What Product Engineering Means Here
- Start with the business goal and user problem, not only a ready-made specification.
- Turn ambiguous problems into clear solutions and execution plans.
- Challenge assumptions and proactively suggest product, UX, performance, reliability, and technical improvements.
- Own delivery end to end: discovery, implementation, release, monitoring, and iteration.
- Work with product, design, analytics, backend, and mobile engineering to define what success looks like.
- Use data and experiments to validate whether the solution actually improved the product.
Responsibilities
- Build and improve user-facing iOS features across core product journeys.
- Own product and technical initiatives from problem definition to production outcome.
- Translate business and user needs into practical technical solutions without waiting for a fully specified task.
- Develop robust client-server integrations and handle real production edge cases.
- Improve application architecture, maintainability, performance, and reliability.
- Define success signals, monitor released features, and iterate based on results.
- Contribute to code reviews, engineering standards, and technical and product discussions.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, analysts, backend engineers, and other mobile developers.
Requirements
- Strong Swift and UIKit skills.
- Experience with SwiftUI and Combine.
- Solid experience building and shipping production iOS applications.
- Confidence working with a large, evolving production codebase.
- Strong understanding of iOS application architecture, state management, networking, and lifecycle.
- Experience with testing, debugging, performance analysis, and release quality.
- Strong ownership and the ability to work effectively with ambiguity.
- Product thinking: ability to connect technical decisions with user and business outcomes.
- Ability to communicate trade-offs, propose solutions, and drive work to completion.
- English B1+, Russian B1.
Nice to Have
- Experience with B2C mobile products, subscriptions, gamification, education, or creative tools.
- Hands-on experience with A/B testing: forming hypotheses, defining success metrics, launching experiments, and interpreting results.
- Experience with GrowthBook or another experimentation platform.
- Experience using product analytics to improve shipped features.
- Experience with Apphud, in-app purchases, subscriptions, or monetization flows.
- Practical experience using AI coding tools to improve development speed and quality.
Technologies We Use
- Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, Combine, Fastlane, GrowthBook, ClickHouse, Redash, Apphud, GitHub, Reviewable.
- You will also collaborate with engineers working with JavaScript, React, and Node.js, although experience with these technologies is not required.
What We Offer
- Fully remote work from anywhere in the world.
- Contractor agreement with an individual entrepreneur or private individual.
- Flexible working hours.
- Direct influence on product decisions and the opportunity to own meaningful initiatives.
- Opportunity to work on one of the world's leading drawing apps used by millions of people.
