AECOM is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to lead their Industrial Engineering team. This role involves supporting Advanced Manufacturing and Industrial projects, developing client relationships, and driving business development. You will be responsible for building a high-performing Process Optimization capability, embedding Lean thinking and industrial best practices into project delivery. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field, plus 8 years of experience, and US Citizenship. Travel across the US and internationally is expected.

What you'll do

  • Manage the development of value propositions for process optimization, manufacturing and industrial advisory services
  • Develop data-driven insights and translate them into practical, deliverable solutions
  • Manage and Deliver projects and workstreams to agreed quality, cost and schedule
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma and industrial engineering techniques to analyze and improve client operations
  • Build effective relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to business development activities, including proposals and thought leadership
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across AECOM
  • Contribute to the development of best practice methods and standards
  • Support capability development through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing

What they require

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline plus 8 years of related experience, or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • United States Citizenship is required
  • Master’s Degree
  • Professional memberships and/or certifications will be beneficial
  • 15 years overall industry experience, with 3-5 years of role-specific experience
  • Background in manufacturing, industrial engineering, process improvement, or related operational environments
  • Experience working within or alongside highly regulated industries (e.g. defense, aviation, nuclear, infrastructure, manufacturing)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and develop practical, value-driven solutions
  • Experience applying Continuous Improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to translate analysis into actionable recommendations
  • Experience applying Lean principles in non-manufacturing environments
  • Consulting experience in complex project environments is a plus
  • Travel to client sites will be required across the US and, where necessary, internationally with approximately 15-20% travel.
  • All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
