What you'll do

  • Provide technical support for customers' PCB designers and manufacturing groups.
  • Interface with customer PCB designers early in the design cycle and provide feedback on routing and layout techniques, signal integrity performance, cost trade-offs of PCB layer stack-up, and material selection.
  • Educate customer designers and technologists on Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Value (DFV).
  • Reduce customers' design cycle time by facilitating/eliminating problem disposition between TTM pre-production engineering groups and the customer.
  • Improve quality and completeness of design packages from customers and identify design problems related to manufacturability and reliability testing.
  • Update customer designers and manufacturing groups on TTM capabilities.
  • Set roadmap and technology direction through formal customer presentations.
  • Support QTA/NPI/High Volume Manufacturing for North America and Asia Pacific solutions.
  • Provide manufacturing facilities with insight into future customer needs and technology requirements; identify and communicate roadmap and capability gaps.
  • Facilitate customer technical needs with engineering and operations.
  • Analyze customer designs for manufacturability, controlled impedance, and specification improvements.
  • Establish technical contacts between customer and TTM to improve technical communications and relationships.
  • Assist pre-production teams through the DFM/TQ process to address 'on hold' issues at customer sites.
  • Assist Sales Account Managers in increasing customer revenue through technical support and service.
  • Travel for customer site visits and key programs as required (approx. 15–25%).
  • Create and conduct technical capability presentations with the sales team.

What they require

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related discipline preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in engineering activities related to PCB manufacturing preferred.
  • Minimum level experience of electrical design performance and signal integrity (Impedance, insertion loss).
  • Strong printed circuit engineering background and knowledge of entire PCB manufacturing process including process flows, individual processing steps, and tooling.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work well with customers' design groups.
  • Ability to make decisions influencing quality of PCB designs to enable high yielding product from TTM North America and Asia Pacific sites while transitioning from QTA/NPI to HVM.
  • Self-motivated and willing to work with minimum supervision; disciplined in working remotely.
  • Effective public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel ~15–25% to customer visits and TTM NA/AP sites.
  • Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC; some ITAR-restricted access limited to US Citizens and US Permanent Residents.
