What you'll do
- Lead, grow, and mentor a globally distributed team of database internals engineers
- Own hiring, performance management, career development, and team health
- Own team execution and set the technical roadmap with Product
- Partner closely with the Platform Engineering team and other engineering leaders
- Engage with high-value customers on escalations and elevated technical needs

- 8+ years of engineering experience
- Minimum of 4+ years managing engineers or engineering teams
- Track record of building and leading high-performing teams that ship industrial-strength systems software
- Strong technical depth in distributed systems or databases
- Solid knowledge of SQL, query processing and database engines, concurrency control, data replication, and/or distributed systems
- Passion for building highly reliable system software and for developing the people who build it
