What you'll do

  • Create innovative, thought provoking, and highly leveraged “must-have insights” content
  • Develop new insights and ideas through thought leadership and offer compelling, actionable approaches to client's needs
  • Develop in-depth analysis to identify root causes of client barriers and reframe thinking to drive strategy forward
  • Demonstrate thought leadership in establishing Insights positions across a team of analysts
  • Bring provocative, independent insights to Gartner leaders to evolve research agenda
  • Research, analyze and predict market trends and shifts to provide clients and vendors with actionable insights
  • Provide clients and prospects with actionable advice via virtual or face-to-face interactions
  • Create and deliver high value presentation materials on and off stage for Gartner events and conferences
  • Provide sales support serving as voice of the market to drive engagement with clients
  • Provide high quality and timely content peer review
  • Actively participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions and collaborate with peers
  • Identify research process improvements or develop new processes for BTI
  • Be a mentor and a coach supporting more junior team members
  • Serve as a recognized authority on Technology Cost and Value Management and help CIOs establish effective approaches
  • Develop and communicate strong positions on emerging and leading practices in ITFM, cloud and AI economics

What they require

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred
  • 12+ years of relevant field or industry experience
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in technology finance, ITFM, TBM, FinOps, technology strategy, or related leadership roles
  • Experience supporting CIOs, technology leaders, or IT organizations in budgeting, investment governance, cost transparency, and technology value management
  • Demonstrated expertise in modern technology cost structures, including infrastructure, applications, platforms, cloud, AI, and product-based delivery models
  • Experience applying ITFM, TBM, FinOps, or related practices to improve technology investment decision-making and business outcomes
  • Experience with, or advising organizations on, leading ITFM, TBM, or FinOps platforms and the associated vendor landscape
  • Demonstrated expertise in at least two of: Governing AI and GenAI investments; Technology value management; Shift to product/platform operating models; Cloud financial management and FinOps; ITAM or ITSM; Technology benchmarking and cost transparency
  • Demonstrate executive presence and ability to establish credibility with executives and stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Excellence in research and writing; strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills
  • Proficient in analyzing and synthesizing data; able to apply patterns and frameworks and defend conclusions
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural global team
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% (where applicable)
