Senior marketing leader with 8+ years in marketing and 3–5 years at Director+ level in a B2B or technical company. Must be able to build a marketing function from scratch, lead strategy, stay hands-on with campaigns/content, and work in the San Francisco Bay Area.

What you'll do

  • Own marketing strategy and brand positioning aligned to company-wide revenue and growth goals.
  • Define messaging for a technical, developer-and-enterprise audience.
  • Represent the brand voice in external materials such as the website, sales enablement, and thought leadership.
  • Personally lead high-priority campaigns, content, and launches that require senior ownership.
  • Set direction and priorities for the events contractor and Marketing Operations team member.
  • Coach the events contractor and Marketing Operations team member on strategy while they handle execution.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Engineering to align launches and messaging with the roadmap.
  • Serve as the senior marketing voice in leadership conversations with the CEO, CTO, and Head of Finance/RevOps.
  • Own the marketing budget, vendor relationships, and team KPIs.
  • Build out process as the marketing function matures.
  • Build and lead the marketing function from the ground up.
  • Set strategy and brand direction for the company.
  • Manage a small team while personally driving the most important initiatives.

What they require

  • 8+ years of marketing experience.
  • At least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role, Director or above, at a B2B or technical company.
  • Proven ability to operate as both a strategic leader and an individual contributor.
  • Comfortable being hands-on when needed.
  • Experience managing marketing operations, campaigns, and/or events, either directly or through a small team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to translate technical concepts into compelling narratives.
  • Experience partnering closely with executive leadership such as CEO, CTO, or equivalent.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, resource-lean environment where you are building process as you go.
  • Demand generation experience with a track record of building or running campaigns that drive pipeline.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with the data infrastructure, streaming, or open-source developer tools space.
  • Preferred: Experience marketing to both developer and enterprise buyer audiences.
  • Preferred: Background in product marketing or brand strategy.
  • Preferred: Experience scaling a marketing team from a small base.
