Senior Director-level role leading curriculum and assessment for AP Physics and related AP Science titles. Requires a Master’s degree in Physics (doctorate strongly preferred) and at least 10 years' experience in standardized assessment development; must be eligible to work in the United States.

What you'll do

  • Lead assessment development and final approval for AP Science/Physics items and exam forms across multiple course titles, including item authoring, revision, and program sign-off.
  • Train, manage, and collaborate with subject-matter experts (college professors and secondary teachers) and supervise Test Development Committee members.
  • Leverage generative AI and digital tools to support assessment creation, review, and efficiencies while ensuring fairness, validity, and security.
  • Plan and lead scoring activities (the AP Reading) and produce related scoring materials; coordinate all workflows and post-Reading activities.
  • Contribute to assessment quality, research, and cross-subject workstreams; develop task models, exam design improvements, and mentor course experts.

What they require

  • Master’s degree in Physics or a directly related discipline (required); doctorate strongly preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in standardized assessment development or related work; experience with digital assessment and teaching preferred.
  • Ability to travel 6-8 times per year, plus up to two additional weeks for the AP Reading.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Strong oral and written communication, organizational and planning skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders.
