What you'll do

  • Own and evolve Mailtrap's production infrastructure (multi-region AWS)
  • Keep infrastructure reliable, secure, and cost-efficient
  • Lead strategic initiative: partial migration of workloads from AWS to rented bare-metal/colocation
  • Design target platform (likely Kubernetes) on bare metal
  • Own migration end-to-end (business case to cutover)
  • Operate and evolve AWS multi-account/multi-region infra
  • Ensure safe infrastructure changes with zero-downtime deployments
  • Manage ECS services, blue/green deploys, Docker image pipelines
  • Maintain hybrid estate (AWS and rented bare metal) as one operable platform
  • Build business and technical case for what moves off AWS vs what stays
  • Design rented bare-metal/colo landing zone
  • Produce migration waves, dependency maps, cutover/rollback plans
  • Replace or re-home managed services where it pays off
  • Coordinate colo/vendors, timelines, and eng teams

What they require

  • 5+ years DevOps/platform experience
  • Production ownership experience
  • Proven experience planning and executing migration to on-prem, colo, or private cloud
  • Comfortable owning a multi-quarter infra initiative (TCO, design, vendors, cutover, rollback)
  • Fluent English (both spoken and written)
