No BS summary

Senior developer for a remote Canada role building developer productivity tooling and AI-augmented software development infrastructure. Needs deep experience building systems other developers depend on and daily hands-on use of agentic AI coding tools like Claude Code or Cursor. TypeScript comfort matters; Ruby on Rails, evals, prompt/context engineering, guardrails, observability, and quality are pluses.

What you'll do

  • Build tools and shared infrastructure that make every developer at Jane faster.
  • Build and maintain agentic context and harnesses for the monolith.
  • Build plugins and skills that teams use daily.
  • Build environments that let agents do real work safely.
  • Build measurement systems that show what is actually landing.
  • Build with a platform mindset and decide when platform work is appropriate versus a quick one-off experiment.
  • Plug work into larger owned systems such as running agents in the cloud, distributing skills to developers, and managing context.
  • Embed alongside product teams to observe how they build and diagnose friction such as CI noise, oversized PRs, review latency, and changes-requested churn.
  • Turn observed developer workflow problems into tooling that removes friction and spreads beyond one team.
  • Drive agent-authored code from novelty to normal by growing the share of PRs that agents open, land, and merge.
  • Set the bar for how the organization builds with AI.
  • Communicate early and often in team channels.
  • Share context, surface risk, and help everyone stay aligned in a distributed environment.

What they require

  • Deep, hands-on experience designing systems other developers depend on, with judgment about when tooling helps and when it gets in the way.
  • Hands-on, daily experience building with agentic AI coding tools across the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience delegating real work to agents, including writing specs, running multi-file changes, and reviewing output critically.
  • Track record of building production-grade systems, often from the ground up.
  • Real understanding of working across large, long-lived codebases with many teams and deep history.
  • Understanding of getting an LLM the right context to be useful inside a large codebase.
  • Genuine curiosity about developer experience and productivity.
  • Understanding that building a tool also requires documentation, teaching, and hands-on time with developers to drive adoption.
  • Bias to action and an open, collaborative style.
  • Comfort with TypeScript.
  • Preferred: Experience with evals, prompt and context engineering, or guardrails that make autonomous agents safe to trust.
  • Preferred: Background in observability and quality, including observing and measuring non-deterministic systems.

Benefits

  • Regular career development conversations with your manager.
  • Compensation grows as you gain experience and contribute meaningfully.
  • Clear salary bands and openness to compensation questions during the interview process.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • Tools, support, and space to explore, learn, and share AI discoveries.
