What you'll do

  • Conduct comprehensive ongoing monitoring of complex commercial loans including assessment of credit quality, underwriting, structure, approval, annual servicing, risk rating, problem loan management, and credit file integrity.
  • Lead Credit Process/Target Reviews for complex commercial portfolios and select risk elements.
  • Participate in Credit Process/Target Reviews of commercial portfolios at all levels.
  • Validate credit/financial information and loan/guarantor creditworthiness.
  • Validate loan and collateral documentation for adequacy and enforceability.
  • Prepare periodic Risk Assessments to validate or revise risk-based rankings.
  • Communicate findings to loan officers, underwriters, portfolio managers, analysts, credit administrators and management.
  • Manage and follow up on review findings and report resolutions in documentation.
  • Attend loan committee and other relevant meetings; hold periodic touch-base meetings with stakeholders.
  • Mentor less experienced teammates and serve as Subject Matter Expert on assigned portfolios; conduct training as needed.
  • Assist with and implement continuous improvement initiatives for the Loan Review function.
  • Develop ideas to advance effectiveness of the Loan Review function.

What they require

  • Education : College Degree, preferably a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent experience.
  • Experience : Minimum of seven years of credit review, commercial lending, commercial loan underwriting, and/or commercial loan portfolio management experience.
  • Certifications/Specific Knowledge : Computer literacy. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; General banking experience required.
  • Required annual compliance training, New Employee Orientation.
