Senior employment attorney with a JD and admission to the Colorado bar, 6–10 years of employment-law experience. Must have demonstrated experience managing employment litigation, administrative agency matters, and workplace investigations. Role is open to remote work within the United States (hybrid required if located in the Denver, CO metro).

What you'll do

  • Provide day-to-day legal counsel to Human Resources and business leaders on a wide range of employment law matters, including recruiting, hiring, employee relations, performance management, accommodations, leaves of absence, wage and hour compliance, disciplinary actions, restructurings, and terminations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements, including offer letters, employment agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, retention agreements, separation agreements, and executive employment arrangements.
  • Support labor relations matters, including collective bargaining strategy, union issues, and labor negotiations as needed; conduct or oversee sensitive workplace investigations.
  • Manage pre-litigation and litigation matters, respond to EEOC, Department of Labor, OSHA, state labor agencies and other regulatory bodies, and direct outside counsel.
  • Develop, review, and update employment policies, employee handbook provisions, deliver legal training, and advise on employment-related aspects of corporate transactions and reorganizations.

What they require

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction (State of Colorado bar).
  • Six to ten (6-10) years of legal experience with a focus on employment law.
  • Demonstrated experience managing employment litigation and administrative agency matters.
  • Experience conducting and advising on workplace investigations.
  • Experience advising on executive compensation and employment-related aspects of incentive and equity programs (in partnership with internal stakeholders).
