Seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel with 5+ years of in-house pharma/biotech legal experience to support advertising, promotion, and market access activities for a first product launch. Must have strong knowledge of FDA advertising/promotion regulations and experience in a promotional review committee (MLR) environment. This is a hands-on role requiring business orientation, analytical rigor, and cross-functional collaboration.

What you'll do

  • Serve as lead legal counsel for product launch on all promotional matters.
  • Lead legal review of promotional materials including: o Healthcare professional (HCP) materials o Sales training and field force materials o Disease awareness and unbranded campaigns
  • Lead legal review of market access and payer communications
  • Lead legal review of medical and scientific exchange materials
  • Support legal review of corporate communications materials, including digital and social media content
  • Advise on core promotional issues, including claims substantiation, fair balance, comparative messaging, and disease awareness communications.
  • Support development of promotional strategy and messaging, identifying legal risks and offering workable solutions.
  • Deliver targeted training and guidance to brand teams and commercial stakeholders

What they require

  • JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Typically 5+ years of legal experience, with meaningful in house experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry strongly preferred or relevant law firm experience supporting life sciences clients, with exposure to in-house-style responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of the legal and compliance considerations facing emerging commercial-stage life sciences companies
  • Strong knowledge of: FDA advertising and promotion regulations OPDP enforcement trends FDA guidance documents FTC advertising standards Relevant healthcare laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing promotional materials in a promotional review committee/MLR environment.
  • Business oriented mindset with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency utilizing and managing contract management software
  • Legal smarts, analytic rigor, business sense, and a strong work ethic
  • Proven ability to operate independently and work cross functionally with various teams across the organization in a rapidly growing organization and fast-paced business environment
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, exemplary attention to detail and exercise sound judgment

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines
  • Familiarity with market access and payer promotional regulations.
