What you'll do

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules across multiple accounting areas.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and scalability.
  • Analyze balance sheet and income statement fluctuations and perform detailed variance analysis.
  • Partner with accounting leadership to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial results.
  • Assist in evaluating complex accounting transactions and business initiatives under U.S. GAAP.
  • Support preparation of technical accounting analyses and accounting memorandums.
  • Contribute to quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements and disclosure support.
  • Prepare audit support schedules and respond to auditor requests.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting documentation.
  • Support SOX-readiness and compliance initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, controls, and close activities.
  • Support automation initiatives designed to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Collaborate with Treasury, Legal, Operations, Revenue Accounting, FP&A, and Finance teams on new initiatives and business activities.
  • Research accounting impacts of operational and commercial decisions.

What they require

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Public accounting experience required.
  • Strong preference for Big Four experience (PwC, Deloitte, EY, or KPMG).
  • Experience supporting audits, financial reporting, and corporate accounting functions.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience preparing account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analyses.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets.
  • CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA preferred.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Cart.com does not intend to hire candidates who will need visa sponsorship).
