Job Role: Senior Business Data Analyst
Compensation range: $3,000 AUD - $3,500 AUD / Monthly
Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement
Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Role Overview: The Senior Business Data Analyst will play a key role in helping to turn data into better commercial, customer and operational decisions across its brands and retail, digital and wholesale channels. This is a hands-on role that combines strong analytical capability with business partnering, working closely with stakeholders to understand business challenges, define requirements and translate complex data into clear, actionable insights. The role will analyse customer, product, sales, inventory and operational data, identify trends and performance drivers, challenge assumptions, and provide recommendations that directly support business priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Business analysis and problem definition
Work with stakeholders to understand business problems, decisions and priorities Build a strong understanding of the business processes behind the data
Requirements definition
Gather requirements for analytics, reporting and data initiatives Define metrics, business rules, data needs and acceptance criteria Document requirements to allow technical teams to build the right solution Help prioritise requirements based on business value, effort and available data
Analytics and insights
Analyse customer, product, sales, inventory and operational data Identify trends, performance drivers, risks and opportunities Test assumptions and investigate the reasons behind business performance Turn findings into clear insights and practical recommendations Present analysis in a way that helps stakeholders make decisions and take action Ensure analytical outputs are accurate and supported by the data
Stakeholder partnership
Build strong working relationships across Brand and Technology teams Run workshops and working sessions to explore problems and review findings Challenge assumptions where needed and help stakeholders reach a shared view
Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
At least 5 years of experience in data analysis, business analysis or a related role Experience analysing data and presenting findings to business stakeholders Experience turning business questions into structured analysis and clear recommendations Experience defining metrics, business rules and data requirements
Industry knowledge
Experience or strong knowledge of the apparel industry, along with an understanding of retail, digital and wholesale channels is important Experience in areas such as product, merchandising, planning, inventory, ecommerce, or supply chain
Technical skills
Strong skills in SQL, Excel and data visualisation Practical experience with PowerBI or a similar BI tool Experience with Snowflake or a similar data platform would be useful Exposure to advanced analytics or AI-driven data analytics would be an advantage

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
