We are seeking a highly experienced PLM / Teamcenter Architect with 10 - 15 years of experience in Siemens Teamcenter configuration/customization to join our PLM/CAD team. This team sits at the intersection of engineering systems, configuration management, manufacturing systems integration, and IT/PLM strategy at Archer Aviation. What You’ll Do At Archer Perform advanced configuration and customization of existing Teamcenter modules (Foundation, Change Management, NX Integration, MPP/Easy Plan, Active Integration, Dispatchers etc). Collaborate directly with end-users and stakeholders to gather, refine and document system requirements. Follow, support and enhance existing Archer Teamcenter code management process, utilizing Bitbucket (Git), Jira, TeamCity. Guide technical activities of additional members of the team, such as offshore developers or junior members of the PLM/CAD team. Support non-configuration tasks such as data migrations, Teamcenter and NX upgrades, AI integration and SOA layer usage. Contribute when required to performance tuning, scalability, security, and system monitoring efforts. Work with technical project managers to plan, estimate and break down projects into measurable and manageable work sprints. Lead periodic architecture reviews, performance audits, and PLM health checks. Drive innovation in PLM: explore scalable digital thread solutions, cloud (on-prem/hybrid) PLM deployment, integration of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and simulation data. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field (Masters preferred). 10–15 years of experience working with Siemens Teamcenter (or equivalent PLM system) in aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing environment Demonstrated success designing and implementing PLM architectures, data models, interfaces and integrations. Hands-on programming/configuration experience: e.g., BMIDE, ITK, Workflow Manager, SOAP/REST APIs, Active Workspace customization, scripting (Java, C#, Python, etc.). Strong experience integrating PLM with CAD/CAE, ERP, MES, digital simulation/analysis systems, supplier portals. Solid understanding of configuration management, variant/derivative management, digital thread, product lifecycle processes. Familiarity with the US aerospace regulatory environment (e.g., AS9100, FAA, EASA, Part 145, MRO), and ability to support traceability and audit readiness. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to engage with both technical and business stakeholders. Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments with competing priorities and occasional ambiguity. Willingness to drive change, challenge status-quo, and lead architectural decisions. While remote is possible, this role will require occasional travel for on-site work at Archer Aviation headquarters in San Jose, CA Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree or MBA in relevant discipline. Experience with cloud-based (Amazon Web Service) PLM architecture Prior experience in eVTOL, aerospace manufacturing, or mobility industry. Experience mentoring or leading PLM/IT technical teams. Familiarity with DevOps/CI-CD practices applied to PLM deployments, containerization, microservices. What they require
