What you'll do

  • Create and maintain complex, scalable data models in Snowflake using dbt.
  • Expose datasets effectively in BI tooling to enable robust self-service analytics.
  • Perform simple data ingestion tasks using no-code tools and ensure streamlined data flows.
  • Add comprehensive metadata to datasets, including documentation, data quality checks, and sensitive data masking.
  • Activate data by pushing it from Snowflake into other operational tools.
  • Proactively identify and raise data quality issues to the respective process owners for resolution.
  • Lead training sessions and initiatives to drive adoption and effective use of BI tools across the organization.
  • Mentor junior analytics engineers, fostering knowledge-sharing and professional growth.

What they require

  • Extensive experience in analytics engineering or related data roles, with demonstrated expertise in advanced SQL, dbt, and Snowflake.
  • Proficient in using BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, Snowsight) to deliver clear, actionable insights for business stakeholders.
  • Skilled in performing data ingestion and activation using no-code tools (e.g. Fivetran, Stitch), ensuring efficient data integration into operational systems.
  • Knowledgeable in managing metadata, documentation, data quality checks, and sensitive data masking effectively.
  • Effective at collaborating closely with diverse stakeholders, understanding their data needs, and delivering impactful solutions.
  • Experienced in conducting training sessions and providing informal mentorship to junior analytics team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
