What you'll do

  • Join the Agentic Ants team as the second native AI engineer.
  • Build and extend agentic systems alongside the rest of the team — new tools, sub-agents, prompt iterations.
  • Co-own the evaluation framework that gates every change: golden datasets, LLM-as-judge pipelines, regression suites, production-trace mining.
  • Ship agents the team can trust, and prove it.
  • Work across both Synera MAS and Synera Assistant.
  • Pick up reliability concerns such as error handling and retries as they show up in your work.
  • Partner with Ruben and the wider engineering team to help the team go deeper on customer insights data.
  • Review Langfuse traces and flag new failure modes worth triaging.
  • Work on golden datasets, curate examples, version datasets, and write evaluators.
  • Align with QA and product on new eval coverage for upcoming agent features.
  • Push CI integration so eval regressions block PRs.
  • Pair with AI and software engineers on extending agentic systems through new tools, routing tweaks, or prompt iterations.
  • Write the eval that gates changes before they ship.
  • Review calibrated LLM-as-judge output alongside human labels.
  • Refine evaluation rubrics and share findings in engineering review.
  • Ship meaningful changes to agent graphs such as new tools, sub-agents, or routing improvements.
  • Make production traces feed continuously back into datasets and automate the improvement loop.
  • Co-own at least one agent surface with the team.
  • Become the go-to person for evaluation methodology at Synera.

What they require

  • You resonate with Synera's Core Values - they're central to how we work, and we'll explore them together in your first interview.
  • You’ve designed and shipped agent graphs in production with LangGraph or equivalent — supervisor / sub-agent patterns, tool design, prompt iteration.
  • You’ve built or meaningfully contributed to an LLM evaluation pipeline — LLM-as-judge design, calibration against human labels, dataset versioning, and the statistical reasoning behind it (CIs, sample sizes, false positives).
  • You write production-grade Python (FastAPI, PostgreSQL).
  • You’ve worked with at least two of Anthropic, OpenAI/Azure, Bedrock, or Vertex AI.
  • You’re familiar with Langfuse, LangSmith, or similar tracing tools.
  • You handle reliability when it shows up in your work — retries, error handling, graceful degradation.
  • SLO thinking is a plus.
  • You communicate clearly and push back when you disagree.
  • Residency in Germany.

Benefits
