What you'll do

  • Take strategic and operational ownership of Lendable’s internal SecOps capability.
  • Serve as the technical relationship owner of the external Managed Security Service Provider.
  • Act as the primary incident responder.
  • Provide a strategic view on how Lendable’s operational defence should mature as the company grows.
  • Execute deep 2nd and 3rd-line technical analysis.
  • Strategically design and build out the internal SecOps function and team over the coming year.
  • Serve as the primary Incident Commander for high-severity security escalations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional response efforts.
  • Share on-call responsibilities with the wider team.
  • Act as the escalation point for technical investigations triggered by the MSSP first line team.
  • Maintain and evolve Lendable’s Security Crisis Management plan.
  • Run regular tabletop exercises to ensure business-wide readiness for systemic and supply-chain risks.
  • Serve as the ultimate authority over the external MSSP.
  • Define KRIs and KPIs for the MSSP.
  • Run rigorous service reviews of the MSSP.
  • Hold the MSSP to strict detection quality standards.
  • Own Lendable's detection engineering roadmap.
  • Ensure comprehensive, high-fidelity log ingestion pipelines across all corporate and cloud assets.
  • Minimise false positives and alert fatigue.
  • Oversee the vulnerability management lifecycle.
  • Partner with IT and Engineering to drive automated remediation workflows.
  • Develop a Threat Intel capability that translates external threats into actionable, proactive defences.
  • Take operational security ownership across the foundational tech stack.
  • Continuously optimise security posture across domains such as EDR, Email Security, DLP, and IAM.
  • Prevent data exfiltration and identity-based attacks.
  • Drive the technical roadmap for SecOps maturity.
  • Systematically close visibility gaps.
  • Optimise operational metrics.
  • Introduce AI-augmented capabilities such as automated response playbooks.
  • Design the future-state roadmap for the SecOps function.
  • Architect the requirement for team expansion as technical capabilities scale.
  • Ensure the team grows in lockstep with operational maturity.

What they require

  • Extensive experience in modern Security Operations, specifically acting as an Incident Commander or Lead Responder in high-stakes environments.
  • Clear, modern philosophy on how a SecOps function should run, prioritising automation and vendor optimisation over linear headcount growth.
  • Familiarity with modern tech stacks such as AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to leverage automation such as Python, scripting, or automation platforms to optimise analyst workflows.
  • Highly comfortable executing as a senior individual contributor on day one.
  • Presence and leadership maturity to transition into a team manager.
