Senior pre-sales solutions/sales engineer with 8+ years in enterprise SaaS solutions engineering, implementation, client success, or consultative roles. Must have public sector experience, run discovery-led demos, support complex RFPs, and be US-based but not in California, Colorado, or New York.

What you'll do

  • Serve as the dedicated technical partner in the sales process.
  • Support higher-velocity core sales and complex enterprise pursuits with appropriately scoped approaches.
  • Own the technical side of deals end to end.
  • Run tailored, discovery-led demos.
  • Keep demo environments sharp and credible.
  • Solution technical sections of complex proposals across core and enterprise pursuits.
  • Ensure a clean hand-off to implementation once a client signs.
  • Build and run custom demos centered on each prospect's pains and Neighborly Software's value.
  • Calibrate demo depth and scope to the audience and deal type.
  • Configure and maintain demo environments across solutions with fresh, realistic data.
  • Partner with Product to ensure latest capabilities are showcase-ready.
  • Design demo environments that represent enterprise-client complexity while staying safe for core deals.
  • Maintain a library of reusable assets, customer examples, and proofs-of-concept.
  • Lead and support discovery to understand prospect processes, pain points, compliance requirements, stakeholders, data needs, and desired future state.
  • Translate discovery findings into a credible solution approach aligned with product capabilities and realistic implementation expectations.
  • Capture solution-mapping and scoping notes from discovery and proposal work for implementation hand-off.
  • Partner on technical sections of complex enterprise RFPs.
  • Grow toward owning the technical response for enterprise RFPs.
  • Solution creatively to meet requirements through configuration rather than custom development.
  • Support written proposal responses and oral presentations.
  • Work with the Proposal team to build and maintain a reusable library of technical capabilities and past responses.
  • Complete recurring technical artifacts such as security questionnaires.
  • Serve as a shared resource across core and enterprise revenue pods.
  • Keep the revenue team current on new features and how to position them in live deals.

What they require

  • 8+ years of experience in a solutions engineering, sales engineering, implementation, client success, or consultative role within an enterprise SaaS company.
  • Public sector experience, such as supporting HUD programs or federal programs like CDBG, ESG, HOME, HOPWA, CDBG-DR, DOE Home Energy Rebates, or working directly with housing, economic, and community development organizations or Housing Authorities.
  • Track record of running compelling, discovery-led demos and translating technical capabilities into business value for both technical and executive audiences.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience supporting complex RFP/proposal responses and participating in oral presentations.
  • Ability to configure and maintain demo environments and become a subject matter expert on the product and customer domains.
  • Strong commitment to quality, compliance, and accountability.
  • Collaborative style and ability to partner closely with Sales, Product, and Implementation.
  • Judgment to solution within existing product capabilities, meeting complex requirements through configuration rather than custom development.
  • Ability to calibrate what is shown or committed to the deal in front of you.
  • Ability to identify and communicate potential custom requirements to discuss feasibility with Product.
  • Deep commitment to the mission of improving communities through technology.
  • Candidates must not reside in California, Colorado, or New York.
