Role OverviewBlack Coffee Robotics builds and deploys advanced robotics software for autonomy-driven systems. As a Robotics Engineering Intern, you’ll work on real robotics software problems under the guidance of experienced engineers. You’ll contribute to ROS2 systems, simulation workflows, motion planning pipelines, and tooling for robotic arms. Our work is centered on robotic arms: motion planning, perception-integrated manipulation, controls, and simulation-first development with ROS2, Isaac Sim, and MuJoCo.ResponsibilitiesAssist in building ROS2-based systems for robotic armsDevelop and test motion planning, manipulation, and control modulesWork with simulation environments such as Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, or GazeboWrite clean C++ and Python code for robotics applicationsDebug issues related to transforms, kinematics, planning, simulation, and deploymentValidate features through testing, simulation, and reviewContribute to internal motion planning and simulation toolingWork with senior engineers on client and internal robotics projectsRequirementsFinal-year undergraduate student, fresh graduate, postgraduate, or engineer with less than 1 year of experienceStrong C++ and Python fundamentalsHands-on ROS2 experienceGood grasp of motion planning, controls, kinematics, and transforms, especially for manipulatorsExperience with simulation tools such as Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, or GazeboComfortable working in Linux and Dockerized environmentsPrior robotics project experience involving real hardware or realistic simulation is strongly preferredSkillsPythonC++ROS2Isaac SimMuJoCoPerksDirect exposure to real-world robotics deploymentsMentorship from experienced robotics engineersOpportunity to work on robotic arms, simulation, motion planning, and perception-integrated manipulationOwnership of meaningful technical tasks, not toy projectsRemote flexibility with high responsibilityOpportunity to convert into a full-time role based on performance
