What you'll do

  • Conduct thorough record reviews to identify opportunities for best practice process improvement.
  • Perform reviews with sound judgment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in writing effective clinical documentation queries.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity.
  • Ensure alignment with customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, providing feedback from record reviews to support optimal site performance and best practice improvement.
  • Cross training of services and tasks to ensure effective collaborative efforts between teams and departments when needed.

What they require

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent in Health Information Management.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) role.
  • Certification as a Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) or Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS).
  • Ability to travel for department and company meetings.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of medical record coding, healthcare billing, and revenue cycle management.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of clinical experience in an acute care setting.
  • Preferred: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
