What you'll do

  • Provide Independent Engineering advisory support for DOE/LPO-style technical due diligence, credit evaluation, lifecycle monitoring, and assurance activities with emphasis on on-site technical representation, field observation, issue resolution, and construction compliance.
  • Conduct on-site technical monitoring, field issue review, construction quality oversight, and progress validation.
  • Review project documentation and data rooms; evaluate technical and commercial interfaces.
  • Identify risks and mitigations; validate assumptions and support conditions precedent and disbursement readiness reviews where applicable.
  • Prepare defensible work products including daily reports, field directives, punch lists, contractor coordination, and technical field records.
  • Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, construction, operations, environmental, HSE, and project controls stakeholders to support lender and DOE decision-making.
  • Convert discipline-specific engineering, construction, compliance, operating, commercial, and risk findings into lender-ready due diligence, monitoring, certification, and decision-support outputs.
  • Participate in borrower/contractor interviews, monthly monitoring meetings, risk register updates, CP evidence reviews, draw package checks, issue closure tracking, and preparation of Independent Engineer reports for DOE, LPO, credit, and program governance stakeholders.

What they require

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geoscience, petroleum engineering, mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil, environmental, or related technical field.
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering, construction, operations, compliance, risk, finance, or energy infrastructure advisory experience; demonstrated work on oil & gas, power, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects for owners, lenders, independent engineers, or federal clients.
  • Experience with Independent Engineering advisory services, construction engineering & monitoring support, and DOE/LPO-style documentation and review processes.
  • Proven ability to perform on-site technical representation, field observation, construction quality oversight, and issue resolution.
  • Experience preparing defensible, lender-ready deliverables (daily reports, field directives, punch lists, technical field records).
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word); proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio.
  • Ability to coordinate across engineering, finance, legal, construction, operations, environmental, HSE, and project controls stakeholders.
  • Able to support remote project work across the United States and attend on-site meetings in Washington, DC as required.
  • Preferred: PE, PMP, CSP, API, NACE/AMPP, PMI or other discipline-specific credentials where applicable.
  • Security clearance is a valuable asset and may be necessary for engagement teams managing sensitive federal work.
