ABOUT THE ROLE

The Regional Mechanical Design Manager owns mechanical design across the Volta fleet. Working within the design and engineering function, you will hold the mechanical reference designs – cooling above all – govern how they are applied on every project, and assure the decisions that keep Volta's capacity coolable at scale.

AI density is a mechanical problem before it is anything else. You will keep Volta's cooling and mechanical designs standard, buildable and ready for liquid-cooled NVIDIA Vera deployments, so every project inherits the fleet's best answer rather than inventing its own.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Own the mechanical reference designs used across all Volta projects
• Govern application of standard designs on each project and manage deviations with discipline
• Assure project mechanical design across heat rejection, chilled water and liquid cooling systems
• Review consultant and contractor mechanical deliverables against fleet standards
• Support cooling architecture decisions for liquid-cooled, high-density NVIDIA Vera deployments
• Work with procurement on specifications for long-lead mechanical plant
• Feed commissioning and operational lessons back into the reference designs
• Coach project design leads on mechanical standards and practice

WHAT YOU BRING

• Data center mechanical design experience is essential
• Deep knowledge of cooling systems, including chilled water and heat rejection plant
• Working knowledge of liquid cooling for high-density compute
• A record governing design standards across multiple projects or a fleet
• Experience reviewing and assuring consultant and contractor design work
• Comfort working across European and US projects and time zones
