What you'll do

  • Support and oversee all aspects of accounting and financial reporting activities at the venues supported.
  • Serve as the strategic Accounting and Finance business partner to the Vice Presidents of Operations.
  • Provide leadership, functional guidance and valuable insights to leadership teams across venues.
  • Serve as an interdependent part of the core business unit leadership team within the business unit or region.
  • Serve as functional leader for venue based DOFs.
  • Provide business/financial perspective to help make optimal business decisions.
  • Use financial skills and diverse sources of information to identify profitable opportunities, anticipate challenges, create competitive advantages and drive performance.
  • Maintain accounting oversight of supporting venues and balance sheet review/reconciliation.
  • Hold fiduciary responsibility for overall accounting within the region.
  • Establish a timely review schedule of P&L and balance sheet reviews to ensure proper accounting guidelines are followed in conjunction with US GAAP, Legends Global policies and procedures and Client requirements.
  • Complete Balance Sheet review of venues at least twice a year.
  • Manage remediation/action plans after balance sheet reviews and report out to VP Finance.
  • Ensure venue compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements, tax filings and Legends Global Policies and Procedures.
  • Create and embrace a culture of business partnering with division Vice Presidents of Operations, the Regional DOF and Venue DOFs within the business unit/region.
  • Work with RVPs to achieve optimal operating performance without losing sight of measured KPI’s.
  • Review financial performance of each venue within the region, including analysis of variances, trends, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Challenge existing strategies and/or recommend alternate strategies to improve business or financial management effectiveness.
  • Highlight potential operating opportunities and weaknesses with VP Finance and VP of Operations.
  • Perform business development and contract renewal analyses as assigned.
  • Own the process of sourcing, hiring, and training talent across the venues by partnering with venue GMs and relevant HR business partners.
  • Identify high potential talent for future movements.
  • Engage in succession planning discussions with VP Finance and VPs of Operations.
  • Plan and coordinate coverage at venues, including vacancies or new venue openings.
  • Assist with the finance operations of supported venues as circumstances arise.
  • Assist venues in implementation of finance transformation initiatives, including system implementations as necessary.
  • Serve as change agent and champion the usage of finance systems.
  • Partner with various corporate personnel to maximize system efficiencies.
  • Oversee approximately 20 venues and manage the Directors of Finance at the individual venues.
  • Take responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the venue units.
  • Coordinate additional support from 3-4 Sr. Directors of Finance to help manage business performance and accounting oversight of the venues.

What they require

  • B.S. in Accounting from a four-year college or university.
  • 7-10+ years experience in public accounting and/or financial management.
  • Supervisory level or team management experience required.
  • Preferred: Accounting experience in venue management industry is preferred.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to quickly analyze large sets of data and provide feedback to leadership on key drivers of variances.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work flexible hours in addition to normal business hours.
  • Must have professional attitude and appearance.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to influence change and drive to results.
  • Extensive knowledge of general and cost/project accounting.
  • Excellent math skills; high aptitude for figures.
  • Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate well both inside and outside the organization.
