What you'll do

  • Provide leadership and project controls expertise.
  • Work closely with the client, team members, project managers, sub-consultants, and project stakeholders to successfully lead all aspects of Project Controls.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce project controls procedures, schedules, budgets, work breakdown structures, workflows, reports, presentations, and monthly reporting.
  • Participate in meetings.
  • Coordinate with in-house client personnel to establish project controls requirements.
  • Work with the program scheduler and contractors to develop, update, and maintain schedules and budgets.
  • Prepare time impact analysis.
  • Analyze delays and delay claims, when applicable.
  • Develop and maintain successful relations with all stakeholders to efficiently and effectively meet project goals and objectives.
  • Direct staff and set and be accountable for project deadlines.
  • Provide support and leadership to the Project team for Cost, Schedule, and Risk Management.
  • Establish and maintain work plans to forecast project financials and compare against budgets, including earned value analysis as required.
  • Functionally coordinate with both internal and external business processes and blend the requirements of both.
  • Oversee auditing of contract documents.
  • Design, update and maintain various project-specific reports as required.
  • Handle contract close-out.
  • Handle change order documentation, review and estimating.

  • Strong communications, both oral and written.
  • Strong construction project controls skills in cost, budget management, contract management, and reporting.
  • Analytical and quantitative skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in all aspects of the project, including scope development, change/claims negotiations, cost control, staff management, and quality control.
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite, CMiC, Primavera, Procore, Oracle Unifier, BIM, and other database driven systems.
  • Understanding of construction and construction means and methods.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) (engineering or construction management a plus).
  • 10 plus years experience in project controls/program controls/construction management; experience on multiple sides of the business (i.e., consultant, owner, owner rep, contract/architect, contractor, engineer) a plus.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Healthcare experience required.
  • Strong PMIS skills required.
  • Respond effectively to the most sensitive issues.
  • Write reports using distinctive style; assist in developing effective and persuasive presentations.
  • Knowledge of financial terms and principles, and ability to conduct financial/business analysis, including the preparation of reports.
  • Sound judgment and reasoning ability, enabling problem-solving with a variety of options in varying situations.
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems and procedures.
