What you'll do

  • Architect, optimize, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, and cloud data warehouses to support both internal analytics and external, client-facing data products.
  • Write clean transformation logic using tools like dbt and manage robust workflow orchestration, taking ownership of system monitoring, performance tuning, and incident resolution.
  • Maintain and evolve AWS-based messaging infrastructure to ensure reliable, high-throughput, and low-latency data ingestion across systems.
  • Design secure, performant, and well-documented data entry/consumption points that empower product teams to build data-as-a-product features.
  • Support scalable deployment using Terraform while maintaining least-privilege AWS IAM access, data lineage, data contracts, and cataloging.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, product managers, and analysts to turn complex business needs into reusable, self-serve platform solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, document data architectures and workflows, and help elevate engineering best practices across the team.

What they require

  • Proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Proven experience as a data or platform engineer, or in a comparable role.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS (S3, IAM, and related services).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehousing.
  • Familiarity with transformation tooling such as dbt.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform).
  • Understanding of data modelling and ETL/ELT patterns.
  • Familiarity with messaging systems and event-driven architectures (e.g. cloud-native queues).
  • Able to collaborate effectively within a small team and with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working with some autonomy while escalating decisions where appropriate.
