No BS summary

Healthcare outreach/business development specialist with 2–5+ years in pharmaceutical sales, physician outreach, provider relations, or clinical sales. Must know PHI/HIPAA, be comfortable traveling assigned markets, and build referral relationships with healthcare providers. Behavioral health, psychiatry, TMS, addiction medicine, specialty care, or hospital experience is strongly preferred.

What you'll do

  • Develop relationships with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, therapists, psychologists, OBGYNs, and behavioral health providers
  • Visit provider offices throughout assigned markets, and represent Journey Clinical at networking events, trade shows, and conferences
  • Conduct lunch-and-learn educational sessions
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for local community groups — behavioral health non-profits, advocacy organizations, and municipal groups — and own the planning and execution of patient-focused community and education/outreach events
  • Become a trusted resource for referring providers and build long-term referral partnerships
  • Maintain a deep, current understanding of Journey Clinical's Spravato program and value proposition so you can speak to it confidently in the field
  • Create outreach plans for newly launched clinics, and develop and continually refine a strategic plan for growing referrals over time
  • Identify high-value referral sources and prioritize outreach using data, market analysis, and observed referral patterns — adjusting your approach as trends emerge
  • Keep a pulse on competitor activity in your markets and factor it into how you position Journey Clinical with providers
  • Bring existing relationships with providers, and develop new ones with hospital systems and behavioral health organizations
  • Ensure referring providers have an exceptional experience end-to-end
  • Coordinate closely with our patient operations and clinical teams, and maintain strong working relationships across front office staff, patient intake, marketing, and other internal departments
  • Gather feedback from referral partners in the field and bring it back to the appropriate internal teams to help shape operational and service improvements
  • Improve referral workflows and communication
  • Act as the point of contact for ordering marketing materials for your clinics and field activity
  • Maintain CRM documentation, including daily logs of visits and relationship activity
  • Track referral activity and outcomes, and support the clinic's broader growth metrics (e.g., consults, new patient starts, no-show rates)
  • Monitor referral volume and provider engagement
  • Report on outreach metrics and opportunities

What they require

  • You have deep working knowledge of healthcare regulatory and compliance policy (i.e., PHI and HIPAA)
  • You enjoy meeting people and building genuine relationships.
  • You're curious, organized, and proactive. You don't wait for referrals—you create them, and you create new opportunities if none exist (ie create and host a webinar or in person education session)
  • You understand that healthcare relationships are built through credibility, consistency, and trust.
  • You are equally comfortable meeting with a solo therapist, a psychiatry practice owner, or a hospital behavioral health director.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • 2–5+ years in pharmaceutical sales, healthcare business development, physician outreach, provider relations, or clinical sales
  • Experience calling on healthcare providers
  • Preferred: Behavioral health, psychiatry, TMS, addiction medicine, specialty care, or hospital experience strongly preferred
  • Experience managing a territory independently
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel throughout assigned markets
  • Preferred: Experience with Spravato
