No BS summary

DeepL is looking for a Performance Marketing Manager to own global programmatic and account-based advertising programs for their Language AI, Voice, and API product lines. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role covering a 12-month maternity leave, managing a seven-figure annual media budget and established DSP and ABM platform partnerships. The role involves optimizing campaigns across various channels, managing agency and vendor relationships, and driving pipeline by converting account engagement into sales opportunities.

What you'll do

  • Build, launch and continuously optimize account-list and retargeting campaigns across programmatic native, display, CTV, audio and DOOH, spanning multiple products and regions.
  • Manage a substantial always-on media budget across markets, reallocating spend between products, channels and geographies based on performance rather than plan.
  • Own the campaign planning cycle and keep launches unblocked by chasing the account lists, landing pages and assets each one depends on.
  • Test creative, formats, targeting and channel mix, and act decisively on what the data shows — including pulling assets that underperform in-market.
  • Own our ABM platform as the internal expert, building personalised landing pages and microsites for named target accounts with tailored messaging, proof points and calls to action.
  • Run coordinated account plays that pair those personalised destinations with programmatic and paid social distribution, so accounts meet a consistent narrative wherever they encounter DeepL.
  • Get account-level engagement and buying signals into the hands of Field and SDR teams quickly enough to act on, and drive adoption of the capabilities we're paying for but not yet using.
  • Define and expand target account lists with Field, SDR and regional marketing, and get regional plays approved and live.
  • Own the day-to-day relationship with our DSP and ABM platform partners: clear briefs, KPI accountability, budget efficiency and creative production timelines.
  • Pick up and run the media agency selection process, evaluating shortlisted partners across strategy, media management and measurement, and making a costed recommendation to leadership.
  • Lead the evaluation of new ABM and intent technologies, running discovery and pilots and recommending whether to proceed. Several conversations are already in flight for you to take forward or close out.
  • Oversee platform integrations with CRM and marketing automation, working with Marketing Operations and internal engineering to see open tickets through.
  • Own performance reporting across the programme by product, channel and region, and communicate it clearly to Marketing and Field leadership.
  • Close the known gaps in programmatic measurement. Attribution currently relies on UTMs, which under-reports a predominantly view-through channel; you'll help land log-level data ingestion and account scoring with our DSP partner and internal data teams.
  • Build the playbooks, templates and channel guidance that let regional marketers run account-based plays in their own markets, making the programme repeatable rather than dependent on you alone.
  • Leave the programme documented, measurable and handover-ready.

What they require

  • 4–7+ years in B2B performance or account-based marketing, ideally in enterprise or B2B SaaS, with hands-on ownership of paid campaigns rather than oversight of others running them.
  • Deep, practical experience with programmatic advertising — DSP campaign setup, account-list targeting, retargeting, budget pacing and optimisation across native, display, CTV and audio.
  • Experience running an ABM platform or personalisation tooling, and using engagement signals to support sales outreach.
  • Comfort managing meaningful media budgets across multiple markets, and making reallocation decisions with incomplete information.
  • Strong vendor and agency management skills: briefing, holding partners to KPIs, running evaluations or RFPs, and negotiating scope and cost.
  • Genuine fluency with measurement — you understand the limits of UTM-based attribution for view-through channels and can work constructively with data teams.
  • A track record of partnering closely with Field and SDR teams, and of building frameworks other marketers can pick up and run with.
  • Strong project management and communication skills, with the ability to run many concurrent campaigns across regions and prioritise without heavy oversight.
  • A builder's mindset, comfortable operating without a team beneath you — this is a role for someone who wants to own outcomes directly.
