What you'll do

  • Works closely with associates and leaders to provide subject matter expertise in payroll administration
  • Responsible for addressing vendor, associate and leader inquiries, questions and concerns in the area of Payroll
  • Drive continuous improvements for payroll processes, service delivery and technology
  • Supports HR and Finance teams with payroll functions - maintains the integrity of system data by running and auditing reports, partnering with Administrators and other key team members as appropriate, and making necessary corrections
  • Identifies and quantifies opportunities to drive efficiencies and automates processes within Payroll, as well as create and updates standard procedures for these tasks and integrates practices and processes into day-to-day payroll administration
  • Interpret Human Resources and Finance policy and procedure consistent with employment law and company culture in the administration of Payroll
  • Prioritizes requests and responds in a timely manner, ensuring that issues and concerns are handled accurately and respectfully
  • Works with the HR and Finance teams to translate business needs into functional requirements of payroll systems
  • Provides information and support training to associates and leaders related to employee payroll, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the various types of processes available
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations related to payroll, including rules addressing confidentiality of personal information
  • Meet deadlines required to issue pay to employees based on published and ad-hoc pay dates

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or a combination of education and relevant experience considered
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience in a team-based environment
  • Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll Administration
  • Experience processing payroll for organizations with 2,500+ employees across multiple states
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll tax filings and compliance
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Workday report writing and payroll-related reporting
  • Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.
  • This is a remote position; however, candidates must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
