About the Role
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Packaging Designer with strong experience in Adobe Creative Suite and packaging design for print production. The ideal candidate understands print-ready file setup, packaging layouts and dielines, maintains consistency across designs, and can take full ownership of projects from concept development through final production.
This is a company-facing role that works closely with the client's internal marketing and product teams to execute packaging, print, and licensed artwork projects. While established brand guidelines and design systems are already in place, the ideal candidate can help refine packaging concepts, improve visual presentation, and ensure all deliverables meet production requirements and brand standards.
Responsibilities
- Packaging Design: Design and update product packaging across multiple product lines while maintaining brand consistency.
- Layout & Artwork Adaptation: Create packaging layouts using templates, brand assets, and licensed artwork across various formats.
- Print Production: Prepare print-ready files for packaging, labels, inserts, and other printed materials using dielines and printer specifications.
- Quality Control: Review artwork for accuracy, consistency, and production readiness before final release.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams to refine packaging concepts and visual solutions.
- Project Management: Manage multiple packaging and print projects while meeting deadlines.
- File Organization: Maintain proper file structures, version control, and production documentation.
- Collateral Support: Support print and marketing materials such as flyers, signage, banners, catalogs, and retail assets.
- Process Improvement: Recommend improvements to packaging templates, systems, and production workflows.
Competencies and Qualifications
Must-Have
- At least 3 years experience in designing packaging and other printed materials
- Strong experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Proven packaging design experience with a strong portfolio of packaging work.
- Deep understanding of print production, prepress processes, and preparing print-ready files.
- Experience creating packaging layouts and working with dielines.
- Strong understanding of packaging structure, visual hierarchy, and consumer-facing design.
- Ability to work within established brand guidelines while contributing creative solutions and improvements.
Nice-to-Have
- Illustration experience.
- Experience designing flyers, signage, banners, catalogs, and retail marketing materials.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Asana.
- Experience using AI tools to generate or enhance product imagery and creative assets.
- Experience working with licensed brands, character art, or licensed intellectual property.
- Experience coordinating directly with printers and packaging manufacturers.
- Knowledge of color management and packaging production best practices.
