  • Decide what becomes a real process and what stays a one-off.

What they require

  • 2-4 years of experience in business operations, people operations, HR operations, chief-of-staff support, or a similar generalist role, ideally at a startup where you wore several hats.
  • Exceptional organization and follow-through; you track your own commitments and things do not get dropped.
  • Strong written communication; you can write a clear SOP, clean announcement, and direct status update.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action; you would rather draft a first version and iterate than wait for a spec.
  • Fluency with modern work tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, Linear or similar, and eagerness to use AI to move faster.
  • Sound judgment with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ownership; you treat the things you are handed as yours and close the loop without being asked twice.
  • Systems thinking; you notice repeated manual work and turn it into a process.
  • Low ego and high standards; no task is beneath you and none are done sloppily.
  • Discretion and trust; you will handle compensation, personnel, and legal information from week one.
  • Curiosity about the business; you want to understand why the work matters, not just complete it.
  • Preferred: Experience with some of the tech stack: Justworks or similar HRIS, Drata, Notion, Slack, Google Workspace, Linear.
  • Preferred: Exposure to SOC 2, ISO 27001, or another compliance framework.
  • Preferred: Recruiting coordination or ATS experience.
