What you'll do

  • Administration, facilitation, and teaching of classes of approx. 14-25 online students from around the country and international.
  • Daily internet interaction with students pursuing a graduate or doctoral degree in the fields of Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, and School Counseling.
  • Perform administrative tasks.
  • Interact with students through grading and interactive forums.
  • Build relationships while under the supervision of Online Instructional Mentors.
  • Teaching material from approved curriculum in accordance with assigned schedule to ensure student satisfaction.
  • Assisting students in achieving completion of objectives and learning outcomes.
  • Providing regular and timely feedback to students.
  • Advising students in matters related to academics, attendance, and behaviors.
  • Motivating students to actively participate in all aspect of the educational process.
  • Maintaining and reporting student grades and attendance in accordance with university policies.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Doctoral degree in counseling or related field.
  • Professional or clinical counseling experience.
  • Candidates will demonstrate knowledge of their field and application of current counseling practices.
  • Previous experience with online learning management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of faith integration and biblical concepts.
  • Preferred: Counseling licensure/certification such as NCC, LPC, or LMFT.
  • Preferred: Doctoral degree in counselor education and supervision or related field from a CACREP accredited program.
  • Preferred: Candidates should have experience teaching in higher education with preference given to those who have taught in the online environment.
  • Preferred: A strong professional identity demonstrated through advanced credentialing, certifications, presentations, publications, and service to the profession.
