What you'll do

  • Review and interpret architectural and technical design documents to independently develop complex OIPA transactions and processes.
  • Evaluate specifications for complex business requirements and develop technical solutions and supporting documentation using advanced OIPA expertise.
  • Develop AsFile, Real-time, and Push integration services and REST services; research system capabilities for integrations.
  • Perform functional gap analysis, contribute to design documentation, and develop Technical Design Documents and diagrams.
  • Lead and mentor other configurators during project phases, perform code reviews, and identify standardization opportunities.

What they require

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent experience (Bachelor's +8 years; Master's +6 years; PhD +3 years).
  • A minimum of 8,000 hours (~4 years) of hands-on OIPA configuration experience on life or health insurance products using OIPA V10 or V11.
  • Strong knowledge of life and health insurance products across individual, group, and worksite markets, including underwriting, policy issue, billing, payment processing, claims, nonforfeiture, lapse, disbursements, state reporting, and policy servicing.
  • Advanced XSLT and OIPA configuration expertise, including deep knowledge of OIPA database schema, relational objects, and entity-based logical modeling.
  • Ability to work in Agile environments, provide accurate estimates, meet deadlines, and proactively communicate risks.
