What you'll do

  • Perform thorough physical exams and patient observations.
  • Record patients' medical histories, symptoms, and concerns accurately.
  • Develop and update patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Order, administer, and interpret diagnostic tests to inform clinical decision-making.
  • Monitor and operate medical equipment as required for patient care.
  • Diagnose health issues and initiate appropriate treatment.
  • Administer medications and implement treatment plans effectively.
  • Observe and detect changes in patient health, adjusting care plans as necessary.
  • Consult with other healthcare professionals and communicate with patients and their families.
  • Educate patients and their families on managing and preventing illness and injury.

What they require

  • Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
  • Active RN licensure in the state of employment or a compact party state.
  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner by ANCC or AANP.
  • Authorization to practice in family health, as per state Board of Nurse Examiners.
  • Prescriptive authority in the state of employment.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications.
  • Previous experience in providing primary care as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
  • Proficiency with medical instruments and the ability to use medical technology efficiently.
  • Familiarity with data management systems and electronic medical records (EMRs).
  • Comprehensive understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of disease prevention strategies and patient education.
