What you'll do

  • Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of Nix-based development and deployment environments.
  • Assist in writing and refining Nix and NixOS configurations.
  • Automate build and deployment workflows and integrate Nix with existing software projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers on backend services and troubleshoot environment and dependency issues.
  • Document configuration and tooling.

What they require

  • Strong foundational knowledge in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and operating systems.
  • Exposure to Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one high-level language.
  • Understanding of Back-End Web Development concepts, such as APIs, microservices, and server-side frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Functional Programming (FP) principles and their practical application in codebases.
  • Eligibility: only available to German residents; either no completed apprenticeship or university degree (Freiwilliges Praktikum) or need a mandatory internship as part of a degree program (Pflichtpraktikum).
