What you'll do

  • Help customers’ DBA teams when they need expert assistance.
  • Gather relevant data and investigate issues.
  • Provide detailed analysis of findings in a digestible format by email, instant message, or voice.
  • Perform screen-sharing sessions for serious and production-impacting issues to help customers navigate and resolve issues quickly.
  • Author new blog posts on interesting topics for the open-source community.
  • Answer questions on the forum.
  • Create customer-facing knowledge base articles for frequently seen issues.
  • Host webinars.

What they require

  • Good hands-on knowledge of both MySQL and InnoDB.
  • Skilled with some of the MySQL ecosystem of tools and technologies.
  • Knowledgeable about performance tuning, query optimization, and index tuning.
  • Know-how of backup solutions such as Xtrabackup, mydumper, and Point-in-Time-Recovery.
  • Some experience with high-availability solutions such as replication, routers, and proxies.
  • Exposure and practice with zero-downtime procedures.
  • Good understanding of monitoring requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience administering Linux-based systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot methodically, identify and apply fixes for known errors, and think outside the box to resolve complex issues when necessary.
  • Self-taught and enthused to grow your skill set with new technologies as the industry evolves.
  • Availability to travel for occasional team meetings, conferences, or customer visits.
  • Experience working with customers in English.
  • Preferred: Related Kubernetes knowledge.
  • Preferred: Experience working in SLA-bound operations.
  • Preferred: OpenSource Community contributions, such as a blog.
  • Preferred: Good practice working over screen-sharing or phone.
  • Preferred: MySQL DBA professional certifications.
