Responsibilities and key results:
- Own the React Native app end-to-end — architecture, performance, release process, and roadmap — without needing the problem framed in advance
- Lead and mentor the two existing engineers already supporting mobile, setting technical direction and raising the bar for mobile craft
- Partner directly with Affan on engineering strategy and with Oisin on product direction where mobile intersects with growth, onboarding, and retention
- Drive native-feel polish: smooth animations, responsive interactions, platform-specific conventions (iOS/Android)
- Work in a PLG/A/B testing environment — ship features, instrument, measure impact, iterate fast
- Own app store presence and release cadence — versioning, store optimization, crash/performance monitoring
- Potentially help grow a dedicated mobile team as the app becomes a bigger part of the business
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience with mobile development (React Native)
- Proficiency in Typescript
- Proven experience building and shipping consumer-grade mobile applications.
- Familiarity with common mobile tools and libraries (e.g., Expo, Firebase, push notifications, app store deployment).
- Experience with Tailwind, TanStack Query, React Native Reanimated and Jotai (or Zustand/Redux)
- Experience with leading and managing test teams
- Bonus: iOS development (Swift)
- Bonus: Android development (Kotlin)
