What you'll do

  • Lead fieldwork (survey, testing, data recovery, and monitoring), archival research, and GIS mapping.
  • Author and coordinate staff contributions for technical report writing to meet state and federal requirements and AECOM quality assurance processes.
  • Prepare reports and associated analyses documenting field efforts and gather data for technical reports.
  • Supervise personnel in the field, office, and laboratory as needed; may serve as Field Director or Principal Investigator.
  • Support business development: prepare proposal scopes and budgets, client interactions, and expand cultural resources presence in New Mexico.

What they require

  • BA/BS in Anthropology, Archaeology, History, or a closely related field.
  • 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in historic and/or prehistoric archaeology and cultural resources management.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Valid Driver's license is required.
  • Willingness to travel and conduct fieldwork throughout New Mexico and the Southwest; knowledge of state and federal environmental regulatory framework, including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), National Historic Preservation Act, the New Mexico Cultural Properties Protection Act, and the New Mexico Prehistoric and Historic Sites Preservation Act.
