What you'll do

  • Work with prospective medical school candidates and pre-med students to identify opportunities to build their profile and draft application materials (essays, resumes, letters of recommendation).
  • Manage relationships with applicants and families while providing strategic and tactical guidance on medical school selection and the admissions process, including AMCAS and AACOMAS.
  • Identify optimal medical programs and provide feedback/guidance on students' research of university programs and admissions resources.
  • Support students with project planning, application timeline management, and progress tracking through internal organizational tools.
  • Stay up to date on the medical school admissions landscape, including program requirements and admissions criteria, to advise clients.

What they require

  • Currently in your residency program (MD or DO).
  • Graduated from a U.S. medical school.
  • Previous experience on a medical school admissions committee, including reviewing applications and participating in acceptance and rejection decisions.
  • Strong English reading, writing, and editing skills, particularly for medical school essays and personal statements.
  • Experience in education, coaching, tutoring, or mentoring students.
