Medical Interview Tutor (MMI and/or Panel)

We're hiring around 100 med/dent students across Australia to support 500+ students as Interview Tutors. You'll deliver 1-on-1 mock interviews, facilitate small-group practice Zoom sessions, conduct 1-on-1 1-hour tutoring sessions, and give video feedback across both MMI and Panel Interview formats. **What You Will Do

You’ll play a crucial role in guiding aspiring medical/dental students through their MMI and Panel Interviews. Drawing upon your firsthand interview experience and passion for teaching, you’ll deliver engaging group or 1-on-1 sessions and detailed feedback videos. Your expertise will help students build the essential skills and confidence needed to excel in their medical and dental interviews.

**This is a contractor role at Contour, not a permanent role. That means you set your own hours and choose the types of work you want to do (we'll ask for your preferences during onboarding). Student scheduling, communications, teaching resources, practice stations and student payments are all handled by us, so you can just focus on tutoring!

**Key Responsibilities

**All Tutors

• **Mock Interviews: 1-on-1 via Zoom, 1-1.5 hours, run under real timing in the student's target university format (MMI or Panel), with detailed verbal feedback at the end, as well as a written Google Doc feedback report (with scores and advice) for you to complete during the session. We'll provide all the practice stations and answer guides!
• **1-on-1 Coaching Sessions: 1-hour personalised sessions where the student sets the specific focus, e.g. target-university prep, working on specific weaknesses, brainstorming content for specific topics, doing mock practice stations, watching you respond to stations, interview strategy, or anything else!
• **Training & Meetings: Paid onboarding and training, including asynchronous tasks to complete, videos to watch, an online group training session, and a final 1-on-1 training/feedback session with a Senior Tutor.

**Selected Tutors

• **Practice Zoom Room Shifts: 2-3 hour shifts in our All-Day Interview Practice Room (open 8am to 10pm daily on Zoom). In these large-group sessions (30-200 students), each hour has 2 practice stations and a specific focus (e.g. delivery, contentions, anecdotes, showing emotion, confidence, a specific university, teamwork etc). Your role as the tutor is to facilitate breakout rooms for students to practice 1-on-1, to run group discussions before/after the practice, and to give targeted final advice based on the stations and session focus.
• **Video Feedback: personalised 5-minute video responses to online student practice videos via VideoAsk. You'll spend about 5-10 minutes watching their video and preparing your feedback, before you respond.
• **Resource Development: writing and refining our practice stations and answer guides, as well as creating VideoAsk practice stations and recording model response videos. This is completely optional!

**What You Will Bring

• **Med/Dent Student: Currently studying Medicine or Dentistry in Australia.
• **Interview Experience: You personally sat an MMI or Panel interview for Australian medical or dental entry, and received an offer.
• **Communication Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to give specific, actionable feedback, whilst connecting with students and boosting their confidence.
• **Reliability: Reliable and organised, training completed on time, sufficient availability uploaded, and punctual + well-prepared for all sessions.
• Availability: A minimum of 10 hours per week of availability _****on average_ from Mon Oct 19 to mid-January, including sufficient availability through the peak period (Sat Nov 7 to the end of November). A flexible schedule can be arranged around your exams and holidays! If the hours requirement is a concern, please let us know.

Compensation

• **$40 per hour for all tutoring work, paid per task completed:
• • **Mock interviews: $60 per 1.5 hour mock, $40-hour per 1 hour mock.
  • **Practice room shifts: $80 to $120 per shift (2 to 3 hours)
  • **1-on-1 tutoring session: $40 per 1-hour session
  • **Recording and Sending 5-Minute Feedback Videos: $10 per video (takes ~15 minutes each)
• **$27 per hour for all training, resource development and any other work (e.g. meetings etc).
